Kindergarten Week 32

This week was one of those weeks that started off great but ended very badly... for momma.  The kids loved their week this week. The week started with Sunday Easter celebrations and dying Easter eggs.  My two older kids tried boiled eggs for the first time and my daughter loved the whites but not the yolk... my son would not do more than a nibble of each. We finished off our unit on transportation this week.  My daughter had fun looking for pictures of transportation in our magazines and then making this collage. Here is the next flower craftivity for the AB family flower!  My daughter loves doing these so much! The end of the week was supposed to be a big family blast at the Georgia Aquarium.  The older two kids went up to Atlanta with their grandmother a few days before our trip.  We bought tickets ahead of time and my husband and I and the baby went up on Friday evening.  The kids had such a blast, but momma ended up not being a...

Kindergarten Weeks 30-31

We have had some relaxed weeks the last two weeks and this upcoming week will be less as well.  It is spring break week for the public schools and we are planning a trip to the aquarium for the kids big birthday present.  My next weeks post will focus on that trip! This flower is just one in a part of a series of craftivities we have been working through.  This one is for the am family. My daughter still loves these puzzles, so I have begun making more to go along with the next word families we are working with. Continuing our transportation theme, we did this land, sea and air sort. In math, we have been working on making shapes with pattern blocks.  This has been a nice change to the addition and subtraction lessons we had been doing.  It is also the last lesson from our math curriculum.  I still have more math planned, but it is all extra! Kindergarten Week 29

We had a very productive week last week, despite a 3 day sickness with the youngest and several doctor's visits. We continued our week with more transportation activities.  She drew this picture of a mom driving a car with her kid in the back seat.  They were going to spend the night at a friends's house... hence the suit case in the back.  She had a whole story to tell for her picture! We also continued our word family activities with our AG word family puzzles . We also did a transportation themed science activity called Sink the Boat ! We used a plastic container and tried to fill it with various objects to sink it! We used this recording sheet to predict how many of each item we thought we would need and then we tested our predictions. We found we needed 10 rocks to sink the boat, which was more than we predicted.  My daughter under predicted every category! We made this rainbow craft this week by finding colored pages from magazin...

Alphabet Trains and a FREEBIE

Image
My son is only two and he LOVES trains.  It is his favorite thing to play with.  He sleeps with his Henry train every night.  He watches videos on Youtube of trains just going do the track.  Did I mention he LOVES trains? Well, this past week, he has really wanted to "play school" with his sister.  I've let him join in crafts and given him the letter A to color a couple of times and today, I decided to try out a new center activity I made with the intentions of saving it until he was older.  He saw me working on it on the computer and got really excited, "Mommy, train!  I watch it Henry train?"  He thought I was watching a Youtube video with Henry the train in it since the train car I was working on was green.  I explained that I wasn't watching a video but would print out the pictures for him to play with if he wanted me to.  He was super excited about that! After a paper jam (which took me 20 minutes to figure out how to get the ja...
