Themed Color Hunts

Image
While browsing through some of my preschool pages, I came across an idea that a parent came up with for her preschooler.  It was so fun and different and many other parents were very interested in making this activity for their own kids, and so was I.  I got on my computer and converted some of my clip art to create these color finding mats.  I then posted the item for free in the group where the idea originated, as well as in my TPT store (link at the bottom of the post).  Each themed packet includes the following colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple/violet, pink, black, white, grey/gray, and brown. I also created several themed versions of this idea. Heart Themed Color Find This heart themed color find would be perfect for Valentine's Day!  Each page features a heart that is to be cut out for the color find. Alphabet Trains and a FREEBIE

Image
My son is only two and he LOVES trains.  It is his favorite thing to play with.  He sleeps with his Henry train every night.  He watches videos on Youtube of trains just going do the track.  Did I mention he LOVES trains? Well, this past week, he has really wanted to "play school" with his sister.  I've let him join in crafts and given him the letter A to color a couple of times and today, I decided to try out a new center activity I made with the intentions of saving it until he was older.  He saw me working on it on the computer and got really excited, "Mommy, train!  I watch it Henry train?"  He thought I was watching a Youtube video with Henry the train in it since the train car I was working on was green.  I explained that I wasn't watching a video but would print out the pictures for him to play with if he wanted me to.  He was super excited about that! After a paper jam (which took me 20 minutes to figure out how to get the ja...

Updates and Revamps

I have learned a great deal over the last few days on selling and presenting my products.  I'm going to go through all my posted products and update them. I will be updating the following items: Product Covers -- I learned some tips to making better covers, so I will be going through the products and making the covers more "standoutish" and giving them all a similar look so my store looks more uniform.  I will also be adding my store logo to my cover pages.  This is called branding, and I'm told it is important so people can quickly recognize who made the product. Copyright -- I learned that placing a copyright text in my document can help several ways. One, it can help buyers remember where the product came from if others ask since all they have to do is look at the page.  Two, if someone copies your work as is, your copyright is there and it is easier to report.  I was told that one should put their copyright on each page of their document, so this will ...

FREEBIE ALERT!

Image
I have been trying hard to finish planning my daughter's kindergarten.  I have a lot of lesson plans written out and now I'm trying to organize it into days of school, making packets for each days lessons complete with all the print outs and games needed for that day. That way, when it comes to prepping each days work, all I do is grab that folder.  Well, as I was going through my language plans I  noticed that I made one more day than I had activities for teaching my daughter ending sounds, so I decided to just make the missing worksheet myself.  Since it is a lone worksheet, I have set it up as a freebie in my store! Above is what the worksheet looks like.  Very simple and hopefully a good assessment for when my daughter gets to it.  I am also working on an ending sounds game for her, so when that is ready, I'll post it here too!
