Kindergarten Week 26

Image
Another week done.  I did not get very many pictures for this week, but I will share what I have! We are continuing on with our word families, now working on the -an family.  Here is the -an family flower my daughter made.  She was in a hurry to get it done as she was with grandma this day and really wanted to play.  Usually she loves these kind of crafty activities. We also did our -an family CVC puzzles to help reinforce the words and sounds we were focusing on this week. We baked some homemade from scratch chocolate chip peanut butter oatmeal cookies to take to a fellowship time at church.  My daughter was so excited to help until she saw me put in the oatmeal.  "You put oatmeal in the cookies?!  That's disgusting!"  She refused to even try one!  It's ok though.  Her brother was more than happy to eat her share. If you follow us on Instagram , you will know we have started out first garden this year.  My da...

Kindergarten Week 1

Week one of Kindergarten is done!  It was a rough week, not because school was stressful or rough, but just life that happened in between. I already wrote two pretty extensive posts on our first two days.  Wednesday did not fair so well.  We did not have any school on Wednesday.  We took a trip to South Carolina and had lunch with daddy at work.  I did not want to try and rush school before or after, so we just took the day off. Thursday was a little better.  We did all our morning work and math, then piled in the car and ventured off to story time at the library.  There is a new story time teacher, but my daughter loved all the new songs and finger plays that she learned.  Afterwards we went to my mother's to visit with my grandmother for a while since she is in town then came home and finished our other lessons. Friday was even more hectic.  My oldest son woke up crying and obviously feeling bad.  I decided he needed to go to th...

Peanuts and Lighthouses

Image
On Saturday, we took the kids out to a sit down restaurant.  This is the first time we ventured to do this with all three kids.  We get there and there is a forty-five minute wait.  We were not leaving.  We had coupons for free kids meals, and we were going to use them before they expired! While my husband stayed at the restaurant with the baby I took the older two to walk around outside.  Not far away from the restaurant is this light house (which I believe is a security tower for the outlet mall).  My daughter has wanted to go see it for a while now since we see it every time we go on the interstate. They were so excited about how tall it was.  I'm sure they would be mesmerized if they saw the one down at the beach.   There was also decorative plants and a fountain next to the lighthouse, so we looked at those for a while before heading back to the restaurant.  We get back to the restaurant to discover ...

A word of advise to those who are potty training your toddler.  Be careful when you say, "put your tee tee in the potty."  They might just do it!
